Heating Instructions

We recommend that Country Glazed Hams be served at room temperature or right out of the refrigerator for the fullest flavor. If you wish to serve the ham warm, it is important to use the following method.

  • Open foil and remove meat pad (paper) found under the ham. With the ham still in the foil, place it in a 9” x 13” baking pan. Pour 7-Up (or similar beverage) into the bottom of the foil. DO NOT POUR OVER THE TOP OF THE HAM.
  • Use ½ can of 7-Up for small hams and 1 can for large hams. DO NOT USE DIET BEVERAGES.
  • Close foil.
  • Bake at 250-degrees for 2 hours or until warm, checking every half hour to make sure there is still 7-Up in the bottom of the foil. If 7-Up is gone, add more.

Refrigeration and Freezing

Country Glazed Hams are specially cured with a minimum amount of salt and no water added to ensure an old-fashioned smoked flavor. This results in a shorter shelf life, so it is advised that you refrigerate when not serving and freeze after 5 days. Because of the low moisture content, your ham can be frozen beautifully for 45 days. (DO NOT THAW HAM AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.) Place frozen ham in refrigerator and allow 2-3 days to thaw.
